Terry Rea - Inducted 2005 Supporter |
|
Terry was an early hotrodder, and joined the BCCCA in the mid-fifties. At the time he owned and drag-raced a 1934 Ford coupe at Abbotsford Air-port. Terry was also a member of the Dragons, of Burnaby, and the BC Hot Rod Association which he joined in 1957. In 1956 Terry bought a chopped 1931 Ford roadster. The car had a modified Mercury flathead engine. Terry raced this car at Abbotsford, and showed it at the 1956 Pacific International Motorama. Terry owes a chance meeting with Chuck Robinson as an early teen that has given him the passion for motor-sport that he still has today. Following the closure of drag racing at Abbotsford Airport in 1957, Terry turned his motorsport interest to motorcycles. He competed at the in-door motorcycle races at the PNE Agridome. He rode at Jolly Rogers Track in Seattle, and rode the final Death Head Derby in Tacoma. |
