Ron along with many past mem-bers of BCCCA, worked tirelessly to open the original Mission Raceway Park in 1965. Ron as spokesman for BCCCA, with the assistance of a few well-connected lifetime members, was an integral part of the opening of the new Mission Raceway Park in 1992. Ron has poured his time and energy into his commitment to this sport. We owe him a debt of gratitude. |

Ron’s Bio from the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame (CMHF)
RON FARMER - Builder Drag Racing, Surrey, B C Inducted into Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame, 1998 as a member of the B C Custom Car Association since 1951, Ron was deeply involved in building Mission Raceway in 1965. Ron managed the track until it was sold to the District of Mission for an industrial park. Part of the deal gave the club the property for a new motorsport facility and promised government help to prepare the site. But, along the way, the politicians forgot their promises, and Ron Farmer lead the battle all the way to the Ombudsman's office of the British Columbia provincial government and to the Supreme Court. Today, the new Mission Raceway Park is thriving. |
