Jack was a Fireman in south Vancouver. He was a good amateur mechanic and spent his leisure hours in the large garage at his home. He worked on his own car and those of the many car enthusiasts who came to hang around his garage on weekends. Jack joined the British Columbia Custom Car Association (BCCCA) in the early 1950’s. his cars were used as daily transportation and then taken to the drag strip to race on weekends. Jack also displayed his cars in shows. Jack was an active member of BCCCA. In his position as Timing and Safety Chairman, he main-tained the timing equipment and the BCCCA bus which housed the equipment for the races at the Abbotsford drag strip. Jack and his wife, Doris, were very supportive of the BCCCA and its members.
