Dave Aldous founded the specialist automotive brake company in 1951 after managing the Vancouver branch of a similar company for 13 years. Located since 1956 at the corner of Fraser and 19th the company prospers today. David Aldous became so familiar with his customers he became known as Mr. D. Dave passed away in the late 1990s; the business is currently run by Dora Aldous, Dave’s widow, with grandson Michael in training for a future management role. Dora, now eighty, has been heavily involved with the business since the beginning. Mr. D was a smart businessman.
