Dave Aldous founded the specialist automotive brake company in 1951 after managing the Vancouver branch of a similar company for 13 years.

Located since 1956 at the corner of Fraser and 19^th the company prospers today. David Aldous became so familiar with his customers he became known as Mr. D. Dave passed away in the late 1990s; the business is currently run by Dora Aldous, Dave’s widow, with grandson Michael in training for a future management role. Dora, now eighty, has been heavily involved with the business since the beginning.

Mr. D was a smart businessman. He kept all the old catalogues, thus giving him access to information for cars from 1910 to the current date.
